Mangaluru: Praveen case, cash rewards for information on accused

Mangaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced cash rewards to anyone who comes forward with information that helps identify some of the accused in the Praveen Nettaru murder case.

The NIA listed four absconders who were suspected to be PFI (Popular Front of India, now banned) members, in connection with the murder of Hindu activist Praveen Nettaru in Sullia Taluk in the Dakshina Kannada District.

Mohammad Mustafa, also known as Mustafa Paijaru, of Budu House in Bellare Village, Sulya Taluk (5 lakhs in cash reward), M.H. Tufail from the Kodagu district and Madikeri city (a reward of Rs. 5 lakh), M.R. Abu Bakr Siddique alias Painter Siddique alias Gujari Siddique of Bellare village in Sullia (Rs. 2 lakhs reward) and Umar Farooq of Sullia (Rs has been named as the accused.

According to NIA officials, the accused fled the scene of the crime after committing it, and despite a thorough search, they have remained elusive. The officials are seeking the public’s assistance in finding the accused.
