Mangaluru: Young lawyer has been allegedly assaulted by police brutally, and hence Dakshina Kannada District Bar Association staged protest in front of Mangaluru Court. Hundreds of lawyers stage protest in front of court.
Bantwal-based lawyer Kuldeep Shetty allegedly was harassed by Punjalakatte Police. FIR has been lodged in civil case, they barged into his house in the night only to be arrested. Half-naked lawyer was then dragged in jeep and harassed.
Lawyers’ Association protested against Punjalakatte Police Sub-Inspector (PSI), also demanding PSI’s suspension.
Policeman’s misbehaviour with lawyer has now sparked row. Further it has been alleged that the FIR lodged over land dispute, and also the police is alleged of atrocities.
