Mangaluru: The city police have successfully nabbed a notorious kingpin in the Ganja supply from Andhra Pradesh on January 23.

The arrested has been identified as Salim Basha, who had become a nightmare to Dakshina Kannada police.

The district police department and the state government had come under attack by the general public for their failure to curb growing drug mafia in Dakshina Kannada. Even there were widespread discussion whether Mangaluru was becoming a ‘ganja hub’ following increased criminal activities that may be murders and other illegal activities, connected to drug peddling.

It may be recalled that few days ago, police had arrested one Mohammed in Talapady and seized over 10kg of ganja from him. While interrogation, he revealed about Basha and the Konaje police left to Andhra Pradesh in search of him.

However, the Mangaluru police team led by ACP Ramarao nabbed Salim Basha from Palameru in Chittur.
