Mangaluru: Hours after ADGP Alok Kumar announcing that male pillion riders are banned after 6.00 pm in the whole of Dakshina Kannada District, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar has withdrawn the order.

The commissioner said that the order stands withdrawn in the public interest.

Earlier, the order was issued banning male pillion riders in the wake of the tension in the District due to serial murders in the past few days. However, prohibitory orders will remain in place till 6.00 am on Monday August 8, the commissioner added.
