Mangaluru: Police placed several Popular Front of India (PFI) leaders in preventative detention on Tuesday September 27.

According to sources, over 10 PFI leaders have been detained in the district.

City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar said that the actions were taken as a preventative step to avoid any untoward incidents.

He said that they have been booked under sections 107 and 151 of the CrPC.
