Mangaluru: The District Administration and the City Police Department jointly on Monday December 26 released a statement detailing New Year’s celebration guidelines to protect law and order. The statement was issued under the presidentship of Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar.
Only till 12.30 am on December 31 are registered clubs, pubs, hotels, and restaurants permitted to operate. According to a directive from the Supreme Court, loudspeakers are not allowed after 10.00 pm. The police department must grant permission in advance to owners of pubs, hotels, clubs, malls, and restaurants. Rules should not be broken, and all organised events should be finished on time.
Before holding any special events or programmes, the organisers must obtain permission from the local police and administration.
Religious programme organisers. The guidelines must be followed by religious programme organisers.
Covid guidelines must be properly followed. Homestays, pubs, and clubs with permission from the excise department should make sure that no illegal activity takes place. The owners are responsible for any illegal activities and are required to abide by the rules.
The District Administration has instructed the public to contact the nearest police station, excise or tourism department if they see any suspicious person or activity. The police will be deployed there to maintain law and order. The panchayat raj, excise department, and environment pollution control board have formed three patrolling teams.
A meeting of all hotel, service apartment and pub owners is called, and instructions are given under the leadership of a Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner.
