Mangaluru: Members of two families clashed with each other over a road dispute at Deralakki in Nada village, injuring several people on Sunday June 5.
The families of Obayya Gowda and Vijaya Gowda, both residents of the village, have been at loggerheads over a road issue for the past 35 years, following which members of both the families clashed with each other with swords and sticks on Sunday. Both the families have now been admitted to the hospital and a case has been registered at the police station.
According to the complaint lodged by Obayya Gowda, his uncle Poovappa Gowda, Lalitha, Vijaya Gowda, Srinivas Gowda and Krishnappa Gowda, who were his neighbour’s house, came to the spot and attacked him with wooden sticks, rods, knives and stones and threatened to kill him and his companions also Baby Gowda, Bhavani, Rajani, Keshava Gowda, Sudhakar Gowda and Ravi Gowda.
In another case, Vijaya Gowda had lodged a complaint alleging that Obayya Gowda and others, who had come to the road passing through their farm where the dispute was going, tried to level the road in the middle of the garden and attacked Poovappa Gowda, Lalitha, Vijaya Gowda, Srinivasa Gowda and Krishnappa Gowda with sticks when they came to the house after hearing the noise.
Both sides have been injured and have been admitted to a hospital.
