Kasargod: Southern Railway general manager Rakesh Mishra said that Mangaluru-Kannur track electrification system work will be completed soon. He arrived at Kasaragod railway station to inspect the ongoing works of electrification of the railway track from Kannur to Mangaluru.

Byndoor-Kasargod passenger train will be flagged off in few days. There are also plans to extend this train to Kannur. It will be initiated after holding discussions with peoples representatives, he said.
Kannur railway track work was supposed to finish this year but due to technical problems it has been abruptly stopped.
One more Ticket counter will be provided in Kasargod station as the passengers number is high, he said. He also visited Payyannur and Kannur railway stations. He also received complaints from locals and assured to resolve all the issues regarding railways. Officers from railway department were present.
