Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajendra K. V. declared a holiday for students of anganawadi to college  in Belthangady Taluk on Monday July 4 owing to heavy rainfall.

Heavy rains continue to hit Dakshina Kannada District. It may be difficult for students in some places to get to school. The holiday was announced to ensure security safety of children, informed DC.

The IMD has issued an orange alert for the district on July 4 and 5.
