Mangaluru: Tens of acres of forest were destroyed on Monday February 20 and Tuesday February 21 due to fire that broke out in the forest areas of Aladangadi Urjalu Betta and Kolli near Didupe under Kudremukh National Park limits.

The fire also broke out in the bufferland near the forest in Charmadi Parlani area and Annappa Hill area of Charmadi Ghat and was brought under control immediately.

A team of the Forest Department, including Belthangady Wildlife Division, continued to douse the fire in Aladangadi area till late night on Tuesday.
