Mangaluru: The fire broke out in Mannadkapade area near Kakkinje under Charmadi Reserve limits and spread to acres of land on Monday February 27.

The dry grass of the hilly grassland caught fire and it spread to the surrounding environment. The reason behind this incident is unknown.

Deputy Range Forest Officers Yathindra, Ravindra Ankalagi, Patrolling Forest Guard Pandurang Kamathi and locals, in coordination with Fox HPCL Company and Belthangady Fire Brigade, brought the fire under control. Further, steps to stop fire from spreading too were taken.
