Mangaluru: Snake Ashok Laila, the protector of snakes who is famous for catching venomous snakes has been hospitalised after being accidentally bitten by a snake while catching a cobra. Fortunately, he reportedly escaped with minor hurt.

Snake Ashok received a tip-off that a cobra was present in a house at Dharmasthala Village Sunday March 26 and was on his way to the rescue of the snake when it accidentally bit him.
He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Ujire from where he was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.

He is now responding to treatment and is reported to be out of danger.
