Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Dialysis Club (MDC) has been launched by Fathima Health Foundation in collaboration with Indiana Hospital here on Wednesday. The club will benefit the patients suffering from renal failure. This was stated by Dr Pradeep K J, chairman of MDC at a press meet here yesterday. “Fathima Health Foundation has taken up this new initiative called MDC to help the patients suffering from Kidney failure in the city”, he said.

Awareness on kidney diseases, free checkup camps for early detection of kidney diseases, free dialysis in association with Indiana Hospital for financially backward patients and financial assistance for dialysis patients undergoing dialysis in other centers in city will be the top priority of the club, he said.
A patient can submit an application at the Fathima Health Foundation in Indiana Hospital and can become a member of the club. Those who are suffering from kidney failure and undergoing dialysis in any center can avail the membership.
Four dialysis free per month that is one dialysis a week is available to each person. For the whole year there will be total 1,000 dialysis sessions. Subsidised coupons of Rs 300 will be provided for BPL and APL card holders depending on their financial background, he said.
The press meet was also informed that Dr Pradeep K J, chief nephrologist at Indiana Hospital would be the chairman of the club, and Mujeeb, the convenor.
