Mangaluru: Demanding justice for friend, youth protests at MCC

Mangaluru: A youth staged a sit-in protest in front of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) demanding repairs of potholes within the City and on the National Highway, thus urging to provide proper roads.

Likith, a youth from Mangaluru, has been on a silent protest demanding justice for his friend Aatish, who died after falling into a pothole in Nantoor,recently.

 

Speaking to the media, Likith said that Aatish fell from his bike while trying to avoid a pothole on the road in Nantoor and died of head injuries. It was not an accident, it was a murder by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), he alleged. He demanded justice for Aatish’s death by constructing a good road everywhere.

Today’s protest is part of a social media campaign by his friends, including Likith, called ‘Justice for Aatish’.
