Mangaluru: As many as 40 Dalit families of Aramanegaya have put up a boycott banner alleging that they have appealed to Minister S. Angara to construct a bridge at Aramanegaya in Aranthodu Village of Sullia Taluk. The demand is being made for the past 40 years but no action has been taken so far, they rued.
District President of Ambedkar Rakshana Vedike P. Sundar Pataje who visited the spot on March 14, said that there are around 40 Dalit families living here and requested the MLA and present Minister S. Angara to construct a bridge but there has been no response
So, when the residents call the MLA, they say that once he gets power he will build a bridge, and when they call after election , the MLA says, “I don’t want your vote.”
“It is not right for an MLA to say like that. Moreover he does not give funds from his pocket but from tax money of people,” they observed.
