Mangaluru: City Police Commissioner S. Murugan has suspended a Police Sub Inspector, who reportedly delayed to register a complaint of a Christian nun, who was allegedly kidnapped and robbed on Monday.
Jessy Abraham, who got down at Pumpwell and was walking towards Fr. Muller College was allegedly kidnapped and robbed by four persons, who came in an auto rickshaw.
The nun, however, managed to jump of the rickshaw in a nick of time at Kadri and reached the police station to register complaint.
The lady Assistant Sub Inspector at the Mangaluru East Police station made her wait from 2pm to 4 pm before asking Ms. Abraham to file the complaint with the jurisdictional Mangaluru Rural Police Station.
Police Commissioner S. Murugan said that an order has been issued to place her under suspension pending an inquiry. “We have sought an explanation for the ASI”, he said.
Earlier, J.R Lobo, Mangaluru South MLA met Chief Minister Siddaramaih seeking action against those miscreants who manhandled the nun.
