Mangaluru: The famous Mangaluru Dasara, which is scheduled between October 10 and 19 will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, informed former union minister B Janardhana Poojary on Sunday, September 23.

Addressing the reporters at Kudroli temple Poojary said, “temple management committee treasurer Padmaraj has invited Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to inaugurate Mangaluru Dasara and following this, Kumaraswamy has personally called me and informed me that he would come and participate in Mangaluru Dasara.”

“I was shocked when Kumaraswamy called me on Saturday, September 22 at around 7.30 pm and addressed me as `Gurugale how are you?” said Poojary adding that Kumaraswamy’s father H D Deve Gowda also used to call him `Gurugale`.

Kumaraswamy is such a simple person that he speaks with others with utmost respect always, said Poojary.

Informing about the preparations on Mangaluru Dasara, Poojary said,“proper arrangements for the Mangaluru Dasara is underway. Thousands of devotees and tourists are expected to come and witness the procession.”

Committee members like Madhava Suvarna, Leelaksha Karkera, Jaya Vikram, Devendra Poojary, B G Suvarna, Radhakrishna among others were present.
