Mangaluru: Purushottam Poojary, an autorickshaw driver who was seriously injured in a cooker bomb blast in an autorickshaw near Garodi in Kankanady on November 19 last year, has been awarded a new autorickshaw and a compensation of Rs. 5 Lakh by the BJP. The cheque was handed over on Sunday March 5.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “The conspiracy to make India an Islamic State by detonating a cooker bomb has already been exposed. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials themselves have revealed this, what do the Congressmen who made fun of the act, who called the one who detonated the blast as innocent, now have to say. The BJP will not tolerate the politics of vote bank and appeasement,” he asserted.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, MUDA Chairman Ravishankar Mijar, Nitin Kumar, Premananda Shetty, Sandeep Garodi, Sudheer Shetty, Sharan Pumpwell and others were present.
