Mangaluru: A CCTV camera that was installed near Someshwar following an increase in sand mafia cases, has been damaged.

The District Administration had CCTV cameras installed near Talapady, Kotepura, and a few other places to stop the smuggling of sand.

According to sources, the CCTV was installed on a pole near Someshwar on September 10 and was intentionally hit by a tipper lorry that was purportedly owned by smugglers. The CCTV has been completely damaged as a result of the accident’s impact.

The incident, however, was recorded.
