Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a man was seriously injured in a collision between a bus and a scooter at Jakribettu here.
The injured has been identified as Mohammed Suhail (40), a resident of Belthangady. The accident took place at Jakribettu junction when he was on his way to Belthangady via Bantwala Town. According to locals, the accident occurred while crossing Dharmasthala Road from Bantwala to Jakribettu Junction. It is an unscientific type of crossing and there have been many accidents on the stretch leading to loss of lives. Instead of putting road humps on unnecessary roads, the public is demanding that humps be put up on the road where such accidents take place.
Melkar Traffic Police visited the spot and registered a case.
