Mangaluru: A case has been registered at Surathkal Police Station in connection with the incident in which a BJP Corporator was allegedly attacked by a youth and threatened of murder in Katipalla 3rd Block here.

BJP Corporator Lokesh Bollaje has filed a complaint in which a local resident, Ganesh Devadiga, has been named as the accused. In Katipalla, A. P. Mohan, Ganesh Devadiga and Girish have been sending defamatory messages against Lokesh for the past few years and have been at loggerheads with each other.

Recently, Rs. 50 Lakh was sanctioned for Katipalla autorickshaw parking and other development works. The accused, Ganesh Devadiga and others, used to make derogatory remarks and also send messages in public about the groundbreaking ceremony. Recently, Ganesh had a quarrel with Lokesh Bollaje over the same issue and threatened to kill him and subsequently Lokesh lodged a complaint with Surathkal Police.

When the Police went home to arrest the accused, A. P. Mohan allegedly had a tussle with the Police and sent them back.

Surathkal Police has registered a case and is investigating.
