Mangaluru: Six persons have been arrested for allegedly abusing and assaulting two door-to-door salesmen in Bedraje, Kadaba Taluk’s Kaniyoor.

The arrested have been identified as Punith, Raju, Prasad, Kishore, Bhavith and Ranjith.

The victims, Rafiq and Ramizuddin, filed a complaint with Bellare Police on October 20. They said that as they were going to Kaniyoor, a group of persons stopped their vehicle and assaulted and abused the victims.
According to the victims, the incident happened after an argument at a residence regarding the purchasing of bedsheets.

Rafiq and Ramizuddin were also arrested in connection with the same incident for allegedly outraging a woman’s modesty, informed SP Rishikesh Sonawane.

He said that Rafiq and Ramizuddin are hospitalised and under police protection.
