Mangaluru: Mangaluru is the City of the State, which has huge economic potential. Also we know that Mangaluru is also considered as the gateway of the State as there are frequent economic activities which have been carried out through the harbour. However, the flipside of the City that has great road, land and water connectivity has poor road infrastructure.

Many of the roads connecting to the City of Mangaluru is not well-maintained and is ridden with potholes as well as these roads need frequent patch up. We also have tollgates where tolls are collected.The collection of the toll fee by the agency’s is to provide a good and comfortable means of road to the vehicles that travel on those roads. We experience many climate change in the region and also experience road damages throughout the year. It is the responsibility of the agency’s to check all of such problems and maintain the road.

However, the scenario is such that many civilians complain that the tollgates are not doing their job as far as giving a good and clean roads to travel are concerned. So in the mode of the economic development, the development of the roads are also important. And hence it is high time the Highway Authority took serious consideration of this aspect and help the citizens travelling on such roads a well keep the momentum of economic activities which is flourishing in the region keep going.
