Mangaluru: The Customs Officers of Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) seized 878 gms gold of 24 carat purity valued at Rs. 45.83 lakh from a passenger on Monday August 22.

The male passenger hails from Bantwala of Dakshina Kannada District. He arrived from Dubai at Mangalore International Airport on Spice Jet flight SG-60.

The gold was extracted from four oval shaped object concealed with gold in powder form mixed with solid gum secreted in passenger’s body.
