Moodbidri: Mangaluru based Sushanth Shetty who has travelled for 9,700km across 13 countries from October 25, 2015 on a project called ‘East India Express’ visited Moodbidri recently.

Tribhuvan Auto Motive Club, Bedra Adventures Club and JCA Tribhuvan welcomed Sushanth who had plans to visit Kudremukh, Agumbe and Charmady ghats on Tuesday.
Tribhuvan Auto Motive club president Kuladeep M, Bedra Adventures president Akshay, JCA president Dheerendra Jain, bearers Shreshta Shetty, Sampath Kumar, Sampath Jain, Abu Ala Puttige, Maheendra Varma, Mohammad Arif were present.
Speaking to reporters Sushanth who is a Engineer by profession in London said, that he had plans to travel for a distance of 12,000km in his Suzuki Hayabusa for six months.
But as he did not get a Pakistan Visa his journey was restricted to only 9,700km. Race Dynamic, Bridge Stone, Garment, NMT had sponsored the project to the tune of Rs 30 lakhs.
I have travelled across London, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran and Dubai.
As there are no speed limits in Germany, riding at 290 km speed was a thrilling experience, he said.
“Initially there was no support from my parents however I could achieve this only because of encouragement from all”, he says.
Shetty purchased a 2002 Hayabusa for the journey and gave it a new paint job to resemble Suzuki’s new GSX-RR MotoGP racer. Shetty also named the Hayabusa Patrick Star, after Spongebob Squarepants’ dimwitted starfish sidekick.
