Mangalore:The three students trained in Centre for Advanced Learning have successfully cleared the National Talent Search Examination(NTSE) said the principal of the institute Mrs.Severine Rosario.
She was addressing the media in the press meet held in the press club of city.
She said, “The institute is very proud to say that out of the four students selected from the city, three are trained in our institute. The students Adarsh Somayaji, Pulkit Sareen and Sneha Mahajan have carved a name for themselves and to Mangalore by being within the 64 selected students from Karnataka. A total of 1035 students have been selected this year from the country at the NTSE examination conducted by the National Council for education and research (NCERT).
The selected students called as “National Talent Scholars” are eligible for a scholarship of Rs.500 per month from 1st PUC until they finish their Ph.D.
The selection process was held in two stages. First in the state level. This year, 50711 students had appeared for the state level NTSE exam from Karnataka, held on 18th November 2012. The Department of state education and Research Training(DSERT) had selected 223 students for the Nationals.”
Vice-Principal of the institute, Mr.Arthur Pais was also present at the occasion.
