Mangaluru: Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji, spiritual head of Ramachandrapur Math, while accepting the ‘Gau Dhwaja’ handed over to him on his arrival at ‘Mangala Gau Yatra’ programme organized at Kulur in the city on Friday January 27 stressed on the need for cow conservation and exhorted all to approach the subject unitedly keeping aside differences of caste and creed.Delivering his benedictory address Swamiji said that it is was a good sign that the society as a whole has come forward for the cause of protecting the cows. He said that the few voices are heard here and there on the need for cow conservation were like dots and people can build a stronger force by drawing a line through the dots.

“This place, named as ‘Mangalabhoomi’ for this holy feat, will witness emergence of a new power after two days. This new power will build a strong fort around the cows in the country and protect them from their enemies. Through this initiative, it will show its might and stop cow slaughter completely,” he opined.
Stating that the immense support from people wherever he led his ‘Gau Yatra’ gives him the inspiration to move ahead, he requested for people to be present at the programme and nothing else.

Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math said that Kulur will witness a programme that will create a new world record. Further he added that though they were unable to be a part of the nations freedom struggle they now have a chance to participate in the struggle for the freedom of cows. “Fear of death will not deter our movement because, saints in thousands will take part in this struggle,” he stated. He expressed regret on the fact that the government had created a number of road blocks in organizing this programme, and that none of the ministers had taken part in this mammoth programme.

Sri Vikhyatananda Swamiji of Gurusevashram,Balyottu, Brahmakumari Vishweshwari Akka, and Kalladka Dr Prabhakar Bhat and others were present at the dais. A report on the success of Gau Yatra in seven states was presented by Dr Y V Krishnamurty, director of ‘Gau Mangala Yatra’, on the occasion. Mahesh Kaje presented the programme.

The valedictory ceremony of the Mangala Gau Yatra will be held at 29 at Bangra Kulur near Mangaluru.
