Bangalore: A man from Banashankari who had advertised his love  for Kannada actor and Mandya Member of Parliament Ramya, in an English daily on Valentine’s Day, was arrested by the Cubbon Park police on Friday February 21.

The accused   identified as Venkat who claimed to be producing a film titled ‘Hucha Venkat’, had advertised the film in an English daily. The advertisement said that he was madly in love with Ramya. It also claimed that he would kidnap her and marry her at the Banashankari temple under any circumstances.

Ramya lodged a complaint through her personal assistant and requested the police to take strict action against Venkat for using her name in a derogatory manner.

After the arrest Venkat’s parents told the police that their son was mentally disturbed because of personal problems.
