Bantwal: A 45-year-old accident victim who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru succumbed to injuries on Wednesday, February 3.

Mukunda Acharya, from Bantwal was knocked down by a lorry two days ago when he was crossing the road near KC Road, in Kalladka. Immediately he was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. However he did not respond to the treatment and breathed his last.

He is survived by wife and a son.

A case has been registered against the lorry driver at Melkar traffic police station.
