Man gets seven years jail term for sexually abusing minor

Kasaragod: A man has been sentenced to seven years of imprisonment after he was found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage girl at a tuition centre in Kanhangad.

Kasaragod District court has convicted Dr Mohammad Asghar (28) of Kanhangad district, for sexually abusing a minor girl. The court, apart from seven years of imprisonment, all slammed a penalty of Rs 50,000.

If the convict fails to pay the fine amount he will have to serve one additional year of imprisonment.

The incident took place in 2012.
