Mangaluru: A man accused of murdering his cousin was sentenced to life imprisonment here by the Third Additional District and Sessions Court, who found him guilty of the crime.

The man is identified as Rajesh from Kodange Kodi, Balthila and the murdered, his cousin Ranjith. The murder took place on May 15, 2017 by stabbing. Ranjith had attempted to reform Rajesh, who was an alcoholic and as a result the latter had developed an enmity with the former.

When Ranjith was stabbed at Rajesh’s residence, a person named Ganesh Poojary who tried to prevent Rajesh was also injured, However, Ranjith, who was rushed to the hospital breathed his last.

Bantwal Town Police Station had registered a case and the then IPS Probationary Officer Nagesh D L had filed a charge sheet in court.
