Talapady: A man drowned in a pond near Narlapadil, Talapady on Tuesday August 10.

Rajesh Shetty (55), a Narlapadil resident, has been identified as the deceased. He was employed as a security guard at the Talapady toll gate.

Despite the efforts of residents to stop Rajesh from drowning, they were unable to save Rajesh from drowning.
Rajesh is survived by wife, two girls, and a son.
