Mangaluru: A person allegedly committed suicide in a lodge at K S Rao Road, Mangaluru on Sunday, May 22.

Shambhu G S (45) is the deceased. Police sources said that he had used a piece of glass to slit his throat.

Shambhu was staying in the lodge from the past two days. He had given an address of a sweet bakery from Davanagere. He was spotted outside the lodge on Friday and then never came out.

The lodge manager reported this to Mangaluru north police station. The police reportedly broke the door of Shambhu’s room where he was found dead.

Initially it looked like a murder. However, forensic experts confirmed that it was a suicide.

The police is investigating the case.
