Mangaluru: A 47-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, for reportedly raped his daughter for over six months in Malur, on the outskirts of the city.

The incident came to light when the victim refused to go home from the school.  Upon enquiry by teachers, she revealed that her father was making untoward advances since six months, and raped her on January 15.

The teachers informed the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and lodged a complaint with the Mangaluru Rural police.  The mother told the police that she was not aware of the incident. The accused has six children of which four are girls.

The man has been booked under Section 376 (Rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
