Customs officials at the international airport in the city have detained an individual for attempting to smuggle 750 grams of 24-carat gold, valued at Rs 54.3 lakh.

The apprehension occurred upon the man’s arrival from Dammam on April 27. His suspicious behavior prompted customs officials to subject him to physical frisking and machine scanning. Subsequently, during the search, three egg-shaped objects were discovered concealed in his rectum.

The accused has been brought before the magistrate, and further investigation is underway, as per the information provided by customs officials.
