Mangaluru: At least 30 people were injured, when a makeshift gallery, from where they were watching a match of the national-level Pro-Kabaddi tournament at Panambur beach collapsed on Friday night.
The three-day Kabaddi tournament is organized for the first time by the Karnataka Amateur Kabaddi Association.

The incident occurred when the 9th match was going on after the formal inauguration of the tournament. As many as 3,000 spectators were present at the beach to witness the tournament.

The injured, are undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital here.

According to the organisers the tournament will resume on Saturday, April 16.

Mangaluru North MLA Mohiuddin Bava visited the spot, soon after the incident occurred and also met the injured at the hospital.
