Mangaluru: Close on the heels of nearly 200 boys being detained at a Bengaluru railway station, the Mangaluru police too on Saturday July 22, detained a group of 47 boys who had arrived to the city from Bihar at Mangaluru Central Railway Station over trafficking suspicions.

However, verification revealed that out of the 47 boys who had arrived to pursue their education at a Madrasa here in Kudroli, only 34 boys held the requisite documents including letters from their parents and were accompanied by their caretakers. The remaining 13 it was found did not carry the valid documents and suspecting that they were brought to the city illegally the police handed them over to the Child Welfare Committee.

A case stands registered.
