Mangaluru: While most of the police commissioners and IPS officers posted in Karnataka resort to tweeting in either Kannada or English, here is an IPS officer who has taken the road less travelled and tweeted in Dakshina Kannada’s local vernacular, Tulu.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha, took Twitter on Thursday, September 12, in Tulu (using the Kannada script) to talk about the police drill that is going to be held at the Police Grounds on Friday morning.
In the tweet he wrote, “Tomorrow there is going to be a police drill programme at the Police Grounds from 8 am to 9 am. This will be the first programme after I have assumed power as the city police commissioner. I’m excited to greet, meet and have a talk with all the police officers as well as the staff. This programme will be live on Facebook and Twitter, hence people can sit at home and watch it.”
Dr Harsha had assumed the post of Mangaluru police commissioner on August 5.
