Mangaluru: Days after the controversy erupted that the prime accused in the sensational Bhaskar Shetty murder case, Rajeshwari Shetty, Navaneeth Shetty and Niranjan Bhat were brought to the court in a luxurious car, their advocate Beluvai Arun Bangera has stated that the trio was not accorded any kind of luxurious treatment while producing them before the court.

Justifying the car issue with media persons on August 22, he claimed that as there was unavailability of escort in DAR, the police department had arranged a tourist car to take the accused to the court from judicial custody.

“On behalf our clients, twice we have brought it to the notice of the court that as the case is not just about the murder but also about money and property, Rajeshwari Shetty has threat to her life and hence she cannot be taken to the court in public transport like a bus. Unnecessarily bringing name of Rajeshwari Shetty in this matter is not fair, which will hinder her moral support. The vehicle arrangement has been done by the police department and not by the relatives of Rajeshwari Shetty.”

On civil matters pertaining to the case, Advocate M Chidanand Kedilaya said that the will which was not found for 1.5 years after murder, had now surfaced after an officer from Karkala gave a death certificate. He informed that against this new-found will on behalf the accused, an application against the will produced by Gulabi Shetty, mother of Bhaskar Shetty would be filed in the court .

Advocates Arun Shetty and Nithin Kuthar were present.
