Moodabidri: Four occupants of a car had a lucky escape when their speeding vehicle smashed into a electric transformer here on Sunday, July 31.
The incident occured near Golidadi in Kadandale in Moodabidri, when a speeding car moving from Sacheripete to Moodabidri hit a transformer after the driver lost control over the vehicle. Consequently, the transformer collapsed and the car was completely damaged. However, the occupants of the car escaped with minor injuries.

Mescom official Pradeep Kumar and District zilla panchayath member Sucharitha Shetty visited the spot.

The locals hailed Gunapal, a Mescom official who was working on a contract basis for his timely help in switching off the electric ocnnection immediately after the mishap. Another Mescom staff Praveen D’souza cleared the fallen transformer from the road.
