Moodbidri : Advocate Felix Cardoza who was participating in a meeting convened by the Mathra Bhoomi Samrakshana Samithi opposing the proposed Ultra Mega Thermal Project at Niddodi has demanded that the politicians contesting the elections should sign an affidavit stating that they will not allow the project to come up and would resign if they fail to prevent the project.



Speaking at the meeting held at Niddodi Bontalke Narayana Guru Hall on March 9, Sunday, he said politicians and elected representatives were only giving assurances but were not making theirs stance clear.
The meeting resolved that the candidates contesting the elections visit Niddodi prior to the elections and make clear their stance on the proposed project. It also resolved that the candidates after elected should participate in the protest organised by the Samithi and declare that they oppose the project.
Felix Cardoza also felt the need for a united fight against the project by taking even the elected representatives into confidence.
Samithi President Alphonse D’Souza, Honorary President Jagannath Shetty, Working President Poovappa Gowda, Convenor Kiran Manjanabailu, Secretary Vinodhara Suvarna, Vice President Bhasker Devasya, Treasurer Narasimha and others were present.
