Kasargod: A youth from Perla, who failed to get re-posted to duty after a mishap in Gulf, resorted to ending life at a guest house near Kasargod Railway station.

The deceased is Krishna (35), originally hailing from Shivagiri Badiyar of Perla.

He was employed as Mechanical Engineer in Muscat but in a tragic mishap on-duty, Krishna lost all his fingers of right hand. After undergoing treatment for the same in Muscat for couple of months, he had returned to his home town about six months ago as the company had promised to accommodate him in its India’s branch. But, persistent communication with the branch office in Bengaluru yielded no response. The status of being unemployed had left Krishna in a depressed state. On Wednesday, he had again come to Mangaluru to forward his plea to the branch office. From Mangaluru, he boarded a train, reach Kasargod, hired a guest house and hanged himself to death there.

The police have forwarded the dead body for Post mortem procedures.
