Belthangady: Kitti Acharya, a lone woman living in a dilapidated house at Bikkira in Badagakaranduru village, here in Belthangady will receive a wonderful gift this Diwali. Her hopes of owning a pukka house was fading out when Yuvashakti Whatsapp Balaga came as ray of hope. The group members are now working towards building a new house for Kitty Acharya and gift her the same this Diwali.
Kitti was living in a house in three cents land. Moved by the plight of the woman, the Group admins Devadas Salian, Harisha Kulal, Sathyadevathe Aladangady, Yashodhara Poojary, Poornesh Kaphinadka took up the responsibility and decided to build a house. The foundation laying ceremony was held recently.
First they decided to form a committee comprising of Aladangady Shri Sathyadevathe temple administrator Shivprasad Ajila and Mangalorean businessman who hails from Belthangady Ravi Poojary as advisors, Ramesh Hegde Kaphinadka as the president and Yashodhara as the secretary. Kitti was also offfered 50kgs of rice by the Sathyadevathe temple.
Elias Pais Aladangady, Aladangady Lions Club secretary and journalist Vijaya Kumar Jain, committee president Ramesh Hegde, Surendra Jain, Balyayakody, Janardhana Acharya, Whatsapp group members were present during the foundation laying ceremony.
The house which will be built at the estimated cost of Rs 1.50 lakhs will be handed over to her during Deepavali.
