Locals find Dead Body of JCB Operator besides Palguni River

Moodbidri :The locals found the body of an JCB operator working with Venkataramana Earthmovers, Karkala at the banks of Palguni river in Arambody village at the limits of Venoor police station, here on Thursday October 17 morning.

The body was identified as of thirty-two-year-old Satish, husband of Kusuma, residing at Umbettu Kudripalke, in Moodukody at the limits of Venoor gram panchayat.  

Satish was hailing from Soraba in Shimoga district, married to Kusuma, a native of Venoor 6 years ago. He was working as JCB operator in Karkala and was visiting his family during the weekends. Accordingly, he had left his in-laws house on Sunday at 4.00pm in the pretext of some urgent work and boarded the bus to Naravi at 5.00pm.

Meanwhile, a worker of Soham Company saw his dead body besides the dam, when he had arrived to take readings of water level of Palguni river on Thursday morning. He informed the police, who arrived at the spot and retrieved the body. The police called the mobile number of his employer from the visiting card that was found in his purse. His employer informed them that he had not turned up for duty since Thursday.The police also informed his wife, who arrived on the spot along with his in-laws and identified the dead body.

The police suspect that Satish was an alcohol addict perhaps drowned after accidentally falling into the river waters. The police registered a case in this regard.

The deceased Satish and Kusuma couple has three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
