Kasaragod: Close on the heels of Rajesh’ murder in Thiruanathapuram on the night of July 29 in southern Kerala, some miscreants set fire to an auto owned by a local BJP leader this morning at Bellur on the other side of the state.

Auto rickshaw owned by Gopala, local BJP leader and a resident of Bellur Pallipadi Shanthiguri was charred in the incident. Miscreants set fire to the three-wheeler passenger vehicle parked at a nearby location due to non-availability of parking space near his house. They had dragged it to the main road before setting it ablaze.

When passersby noticed the charred auto in the morning, they informed Gopala. The miscreants had fled the scene by the time Gopala reached the spot.

Adoor police have registered a case and are investigating further.
