Mangalore:As per the memorandum received by Dr K R Shetty and others with regards to the rebuilding and Maintenance of Kadri Park, MLA J R Lobo, along with other officials visited the Kadri Park and carried out the examinations here on Tuesday, October 01.
Addressing the media, Lobo said, Dr K R Shetty, along with others had given me a memorandum with regards to reconstruction of Kadri Park and its surrounding.Taking this issue to be matter of priority, I along with the concerned officials have visited this spot.
The blueprint for the developmental works is already ready, but that needs few changes in it. There is a need for the construction of a musical fountain and the proposed land for this is the old deer park opposite to the Park. The total area width here is 1.75 acres, out of which 1.25 acres will be utilized for the musical fountain and the remaining 50 cents to be utilized for children play area.
The shops that are now in the roadsides are to be shifted to the commercial complexes that are proposed to be built on the either sides of the road, along with the development of roads, with added footpath and parking lots.
The present Kadri park is to be transformed into a general park, that will include Joggers,walking track along with greenery, plantations, pathway and landscapes.
The total project will be jointly under the MUDA, Horticulture Departmnet and MCC. The total estimated cost of the project is around Rs 5 crores, out of which nearly 2.30 crores have already been sanctioned and the remaing funds will be collected from various sources.
The project is to be completed within the next 12 to 15 months, he said.
Architect Vasanth Pai, MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde, officials Mohammed Nazeer,Rajendra kalbhavi, Praveen, Dr K R Shetty, leaders Dennis D’Souza, Walter lobo, Nelson, Mohan Mendon, Krithin Kumar, Jayakar Samarth and others were present.
