Mangaluru: The details collected in connection with the incident of a hidden mobile phone camera being found inside the women’s toilet in Mangalore University campus, has been sent to Cyber Crime police in Bengaluru for further action.

A female student spotted the camera on recording mode on August 24, but the matter failed to get prominence till Wednesday August 31, till the issue was raised in the University Syndicate meeting. Syndicate member K M Lokesh has been asked to look into the matter. As per sources, two clippings of 15 and 30 minutes each were in the memory.

Mangaluru south division ACP Shruthi is currently looking into the incident. It is gathered that three students and a few staff members were questioned by the police. According to sources, police have got some lead in the case. Bengaluru cyber crime branch will provide its report in a weeks’ time.
