Bhatkal :Indian made liquor worth nearly Rs 51,840 has been seized by the Excise and railway Protection Force officials from the Matsyagandha Express on December 21, Saturday. The operation was held near Honnavar after the TTC of the Express informed the officials about the same.

The liquor was found in 1296 bottles each of 200 ml capacity. But a man who was transporting the liquor has managed to give the officials a slip.
Sources said the liquor was loaded in the train at Margoa railway station in Goa and was being taken to Mangalore. The bottles were kept inside a large bag with no one around.
Excise Inspector Anand JD, Santosh Gaonkar, Railway Sub-Inspector and other officials were part of the operation.
Investigations are underway.
