Liquor smuggled from Goa; police arrest five

Mangalore: The Goa police nabbed five persons who were allegedly transporting liquor here on September 26.

The police nabbed the group as they found them suspiciously loitering in the region. Reportedly the group have several cases against them and are known to use different techniques to exhibit their crime.

They had concealed liquor all over their body that was later caught and seized by the police.

The police opened their shirts and found 180ml liquor bottles tied on their stomach, waist and legs with the help of a rope. The accused were wearing loose shirts and pants after tying the bottles neatly on their body.

The accused were transporting these bottles to Mangalore. It is said that the cheap liquors manufactured in Goa has very good market in South Kanara and Udupi.
