Sullia : Five children and a woman were injured in a lightning strike on a house at Kukkumoole in Devaragundi of Peruvaje village here on May 30, Thursday night. The lightning struck the house of Girija, where a baby shower programme was held earlier in the day.
Several relatives were in the house when the lightning struck. Those injured are Janaki of Dabetadka, her four year old son Jeevan and neighbours Arpitha, Harshitha Shruthi and Sowmya. Cracks have been developed on the walls of the house due to the lightning strike. One of the injured, Jeevan has been admitted to a hospital in Puttur for higher treatment, while the rest received treatment at Bellare Government Hospital.
